Legal Stuff — Terms, Payments & Disclaimers

These terms govern your use of Aussie Trade Directory ("the site", "we", "us"). By using the site, creating an account, claiming a listing or buying a paid placement, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

These terms work alongside our Legal Disclaimer, which explains where our listing data comes from and the limits of that information. Where the two overlap, read them together.

You may browse and search the directory for free. You must not scrape the site, harvest business or personal data in bulk, send unsolicited marketing to businesses listed here, or use the site to break any law.

We may change, suspend or remove any part of the site, including any listing, at any time.

You are responsible for keeping your account details and password secure and for everything done under your account. Tell us straight away if you think your account has been used without your permission.

You must give accurate information when you create an account, claim a listing or submit a new listing. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

Claiming a listing is free. When you claim, you confirm you are authorised to represent that business. We verify claims before approving them, and we may ask for evidence.

You are responsible for the accuracy of any details, logo, photos, descriptions and accreditations you add. Only submit accreditations and credentials you actually hold; we may check them against official registers and remove anything we cannot verify.

Do not upload content you do not own the rights to, or anything misleading, offensive or unlawful.

Businesses can buy optional paid placements. Boosts lift your listing towards the top of your trade and area for a set period. Current pricing is $5 AUD per day, $100 AUD per month and $1,000 AUD per year (each ex-GST). Trade job ads are $150 AUD (ex-GST) for a 30-day listing.

All prices are shown in Australian dollars and are exclusive of GST. GST of 10% is added and shown as a separate line at checkout. A tax invoice is available after payment.

Paid placements affect ordering and visibility only. They do not change the verified data on a listing, are not an endorsement by us, and do not guarantee enquiries, work or any particular result.

Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details. Online payments may be switched off from time to time; when they are off, paid placements are simply unavailable and no charge is made.

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

To the extent permitted by law: boosts and trade job ads are digital services delivered for a fixed period and are generally non-refundable once the placement has started, except where the Australian Consumer Law requires a remedy. If a paid placement fails to run because of a fault on our side, we will re-supply the placement or refund the amount paid for the affected period.

If something has gone wrong with a paid placement, contact us at Show email and we will sort it out.

The site displays third-party advertising, including via Google AdSense, and promotions for our own developer, HMS Developments. Ads are marked. We are not responsible for the products or services advertised, and your dealings with advertisers are between you and them.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We collect the information needed to run your account, verify claims, process payments and operate the directory.

Business details drawn from the Australian Business Register are public-register information. If you are the owner of a listing and want details corrected or a claimed listing removed, contact us.

The site and its information are provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly given, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from your dealings with any business listed here.

Our services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, our total liability for the paid services is limited, at our option, to re-supplying those services or refunding the amount you paid for them. No business can lawfully claim "zero liability", and we do not.

These terms are governed by the laws of [New South Wales], Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state and the Commonwealth of Australia.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always applies, and the "last updated" date below shows when it last changed.
